Poetry AGAIN

    Permit me to be selfish

I wish this world would be the only world there is
Not theirs, not yours, not mine
Not all of the worlds that exist within it
    Just this one world
Not one where we are worlds away in the same planet
Separated by the seas that connect us
Divided despite the same air we breathe
    Just this one world
Where we clash and scrape against each other
Sending sparks flying as we pass by
Where we ignite all we can touch
Enkindle all that we hold close
Where I can reach out and find you
And set ourselves ablaze in a burning heap
A great pyre of our proximity
A reminder of the friction between us
    To this one world
Where we are allowed to coincide
    And our ashes become proof
    Of what is possible
    In this one world
    That is impossible
Because you have your own and I have mine
And I could not see where they ended when we collide
Nor ever imagine that they could ever drift apart
Only that at one point we have dreamed
That this one world was ours
